上海租界一場外國小孩搶買中國娃娃的義賣會

這些作為習作的娃娃沒有品牌，沒有名字，更沒有作者名，但是當她們悄悄站上了濟良所義賣會的檯面上，立即招來許多旅居中國上海的外國小孩目光，小孩們在娃娃面前流連忘返，東摸西摸的，然後抬起小臉要媽媽買一個。就這樣，義賣會的收入讓濟良所的女孩領到了工資，開始懂得儲蓄、購物、生活、自力更生，並萌生了人生夢想。

These dolls were without brand, name, or acknowledgement for their creators. But, when they showed up quietly in a charity auction, they quickly caught foreign kids’ eyes at the Shanghai International Settlement. The children lingered by the dolls, touching and admiring them from every direction, eventually begging their mothers to let them bring one home. The income generated from these doll sales significantly helped the Door of Hope, Shanghai. The girls received an income, in turn allowing them their own savings, their own purchases, their own lives, their own independence—they began to have dreams and aspirations.
